Marcus has right: the movement is a Base Lemania 1340, which is modified and personalized by Ebel. Remember, that the same base movement was used by Omega ( Speedmaster ) and by Breguet ( Type XX and XXI ), the later were equipped by a flyback function.
More interestingly, Ebel had bought the right from Lemania to produce their own movement, and later Ulysse Nardin and Breguet must buy the right from Ebel...

If you see what other brands use the same base movement in their watches you can also understand that why even the MSRP was a steal for this watch...

When I first saw the watch I thought also, that it has ElPrimero, because of the layout of the subdials and the position of the date, and because of the fact, that the earlier Ebels used ElPrimeros as well.
Later I found that it is really a Lemania base movement, modified and decorated by Ebel:

or how I detected a “new” brand for me: After collecting wristwatches for more than 13 years I thought I have seen and - fast - owned everything. In this Summer I went for a watch what I bought without seeing it in the flesh and while I was in the shop I ...

a Zenith movement some of us may have heard of. 😀 That's a looker if you ask me. Hard to believe it sat in the case unloved for so long. Congrats!

Are you sure it is still the Primero movement?

I think the BTR line already had the "Modulor" cal. 137 movement, which was an own Ebel development, based on the Lémania 1340 (with center minute counter, but Ebel wanted to continue the classic Tricompax layout of the Primero). This great chronograph mo...

---- the "Modulor' movement is certainly used in the 1911 chronograph line and is based as you said on the Lemania regards the BTR line,it's likely too.I was also looking for the El Primero version. Mine shown here is based on the Cal 137 movement ...

In fact, Ebel's cal. 137 movement is the result of a team project of Ebel and Ulysse Nardin to develop a chronograph movement for one, and a perpetual calendar movement for the other. The Lémania 1340 design was acquired by these two companies, and Nouvel...

I especially appreciate the larger seconds register at 9:00, separating it visually from the chrono registers. Don't see that too often on current chronographs. Some days, feel like a hefty watch with great movement and classic look, this fits just right....

yes, that’s why - for other reasons as well - I love this watch: the subdial of the little second is different from the other subdial’s size. VC has made the same solution at the second generation Overseas Chronos, I am not sure which came first, the chic...
