Lovely Aquastar !
Feb 20, 2019,15:11 PM
I love vintage diver watches.
But a brand has some sympathy from savvy collectors : Aquastar.
Aquastar has produced some watches and diving instruments for the teams of Commandant Cousteau during the 60's. The watches was used as tools with Rolex, Doxa, Blancpain and Omega.
Furthermore, in 1963, the Deepstar model was the first diving chronograph and was used for the precontinent experiences (II and III).

So, in my collection, I have three watches : Aquastar 60, Aquastar 63 and Aquastar Deepstar.
To accompany them, I have a compass and a depth gauge of the brand too.
Aquastar was available from diving shops : Aqualung/La Spirotechnique in France and USA, but Nemrod, Lorenz, Sportsways, Dacor, AMF-Voit, Duward, Scubapro, Poseidon...
A page of the catalog of La Spirotechnique :
Here is my skewer :
Only watches on the table :
The three special casebacks :
And now diving tools...
The depth gauge is signed JeanRichard. Its size is of 41 millimeters (small for a gauge vs La Spirotechnique).
The compass is signed only on its caseback.
Aquastar 60 :
Aquastar 63 with its internal bezel :
Aquastar Deepstar (signed Duward too) with its magic tropical patina ...
Now with the gauge :
To finish, some advertisements of the period :
In conclusion, it is a great pleasure for me to have these historic Aquastar models !
