If you think you need a Daytona then try to get it my friend πŸ™πŸ»

. Between a Rolex and AP i am more a AP kind of person . Owned them both (still own a Rolex) and i like the design and the overal feel of the AP watch a bit more

I didnt know that brand till you told me 😬

Must say it looks very nice , especially when you like vintage PP nautilus πŸ‘ŒπŸ». Cant wait to read your post about it when you get it . πŸ™πŸ» thanks for the tip πŸ€—will look deeper into the brand later this weekπŸ˜‰

I really look forward and wait for what you come back with as an opinion...

 By: Horolygrail : May 3rd, 2018-14:53
after really looking at them for a while I honestly see them as a homage to a specific era of watch design rather than being a homage to a certain brand or model of watch... After speaking briefly to the man behind the watch the romance and poetry he has ...

Thats what i like about independents my friend

The contact with the creator , to hear his passion and later on to feel there passion on the wrist . Huge congrats and looking forward to see the pics πŸ™πŸ»πŸ€— ps be carefull , indies can be addictive πŸ˜‰

both are nice

Both watches have their own appealing attributes. Since I already own a Daytona, I would go with the appeal of the AP.

I used to own the Kasparov ROC. Lovely in its 39mm and how the chrono indexes move, etc.

At the same time the Daytona is sensuous and way less of a (visible) scratch magnet. The toughest choice... Ultimately, I would go for Daytona because it is lighter and slimmer. All the best, Alex

I was gonna say ROC...

 By: psychotic : May 2nd, 2018-15:03
because I find screw down pushers on a chrono to be counter-intuitive but then I realised that this is an older gen ROC. Hmm... in that case, I would go for the ROC.😎

Yes, they both screw down.

 By: psychotic : May 2nd, 2018-17:55
I was being sarcastic. My (convoluted) meaning was that since the Daytona is a screw down, I would prefer a ROC. But then I realized that the ROC is also a screw down. In which case, I would STILL prefer a ROC! Sorry for the confusion, Alfred

And no, the new ROC has fake screw down pushers.

 By: psychotic : May 2nd, 2018-17:57
They are there only for decoration. I wouldn’t get mine if it had screw downs. πŸ˜‰ Alfred ...

My pleasure.

 By: psychotic : May 2nd, 2018-18:19
Screw downs are a deal breaker for me. I constantly time things (at the restaurant, waiting for the bus, my wife trying on shoes). But if I want to time something, I want to do it right away and not have to take the watch off and unscrew the buttons. By t...

ROC

 By: Spencer Karrington : May 2nd, 2018-15:28
I understand the appeal of the Rolex but I personally love the design of the ROC, Gerald Genta at his best! A true masterpiece of not only design but also of a beautiful movement as well, when it is shown

The 5 minute wonder! [nt]

The AP Royal Oak suits you very well.

Which one speaks the loudest to you is the one for you. Enjoy

I voted with my $$$: the ROC

 By: sidtang : May 2nd, 2018-16:32
Mine is the 26300. ROC has the finesse while the Daytona is too common and too industrial. However, ROC spots a FP 1185 with date. Not in-house movement and $$$$$ to service. It’s double the servicing fee compared to Daytona and triple compared to other 1...

I prefer the Daytona because it is the better watch, inhousecaliber, no date, better to wear, much better service arround the world.

 By: Walter2 : May 3rd, 2018-00:17
I love the RO too, but in the first version, with caliber 2121 in steel. It is perfect! I dont like a RO Chronos, not with the modulchrono-caliber and the deep datehole, not with FP 1185. I dont like a RO with rubberstrap, leatherstrap and all this worst ...

I'm glad you're having fun and following your own muse...

That's what it's all about. I LOOOOOOOOVE AP... SOOO MUCH. But this model... grrrr.

As a Daytona Owner Who Lusts for a Royal Oak

I still prefer the Daytona...but would still love to add the AP.

Having both

 By: Gelato Monster : May 2nd, 2018-17:25
will complete you. They both are the ultimate iconic piece that every body knows and admire. Neither of them is for me

Hahaha it would complete a part of me but not the whole thing 🀣... while I enjoy making my decisions based on other factors rather than what the public like...

I have been delaying the Daytona every time it’s come to a point where I am buying my next watch... I think I just made my first impulse buy! β€œLAVENTURE β€œ posting soon

IMHO

 By: Gelato Monster : May 2nd, 2018-17:47
The 116500 LN is the most beautiful Daytona. If I may suggest either black or white it will be perfect for you. It is the only Daytona I love other than the vintage which are beyond affordable.

Laventure is gorgeous

 By: Gelato Monster : May 2nd, 2018-17:48
I have also been eyeing on it. Congratulations on Laventure. It is good if you never feel complete and keep adding more and more special collection pieces 😁. Please keep sharing them with us.

By: Velociphile - No longer in the building : May 2nd, 2018-23:50
and I went for the Daytona recently, but I already own the 15202 Jumbo. My choice was based on: which I would regret not owning the least. Design aside, there are just too many things wrong with the ROC in 2018 that are desperate for updating: 1. Water re...

I owned both at one point...

 By: BMR : May 3rd, 2018-05:57
I owned the same ROC as you have only in the blue dial and a white Daytona 16520. I loved them both for many years, 10 to be exact. Now, I only have the Daytona left as I traded my ROC in while working on another project. To be honest, I really don't miss...

Of course ROC 10 years ago and now and 10 years down the road there is no comparison

ROC RULES by miles and miles (no disrespect to daytona owners)
