Prof. Schaldenbrand reworked a mundane Landeron chrono caliber to a ratrapante caliber by adding nine or 12 elements more to the Landeron.
He was granted a patent for it.
The watch on the pictute is an early, first series that Dubey @ Schaldenbrand produced for the former brand "Edo".
The watch is from around the late 50ies/early 60ies.
RG platet.
Dubbey @ Schaldenbrand made later under their own brand certainly also Index Mobile watches.
In the 90ies was a re-issue series of this watch.
How it works:
Both hands run, like normally with a chrono.
To activate the split second hand you push and hold the pusher in the crown.
If you do not push the crown pusher anymore, then the ss hand catches up again.
The spiral in the dial is connected to the ratrapante hand and thus it catches up.
