I don't currently own a ceramic watch, but I wouldn't hesitate to buy one and simply insure it against accidental damage/breakage. The only ceramic watches I might hesitate to own are those for which replacement cases are no longer available, like the IWC 3705.

Hi sportster I recently purchased a Speedmaster Apollo 8 Dark Side of the Moon even though I had seen the horror story of one DSOTM watch where the lug snapped off ceramic is one of the hardest elements and can only be cut by diamond. Having said that it ...

Having said that however, I really would like to think that if Omega selected the material for their important collections, then it must be fantastic.

In this case, a jeweller was asking for assistance in locating a source for replacement cases. We should not forget that there is certainly a difference between a watch for 550 Euros and 5,500, or even 11,000 Euros. On th other hand, 550 Euros is more tha...
