I would agree on the similarity. Although that tends to be the norm among watch brands, including many of the top houses. But given Longines' long history of watchmaking and its extensive catalog, Naoya Hida may be not be entirely without sin.

In fact I just read a Hodinkee article on this watch that makes reference to a vintage Longines pocket watch with a similarly engraved dial. So perhaps in this case the old saying is true that "There's nothing new under the sun."

It’s a Master Collection 190th Anniversary model in stainless steel. 40mm x 9.35mm and 72-hour power reserve. The steel version isn’t limited, but they’re making 190 in rose gold and 190 in yellow gold, which I didn’t get to see. But I think I would prefe...

I like it a lot!

More than a little reminiscent of Naoya Hida’s watches -

. . . almost to the point of plagiary . . .

Duty

This word i chosen to call the main function of the 190th anniversary Longines in steel. Strange from my side to call an anniversary watch a duty watch which can serve as a tool watch. A rugged everyday dresser which must only point the right time. This t...

The steel model looks good here. Although I feel the two precious metals will likely look even nicer because they appear to have better contrast. The lugs looks abit on the long side from the pics. How does it wears on the wrist?

I know from my pieces that they have long lugs. Typical Longines. Easy to swap straps.

On the wrist it seemed okay. It wears relatively flat at 9.35mm and I feel comfortable wearing watches up to 42mm. Though I prefer 38mm for this type of dress watch.

One nice thing is that the strap is surprisingly higher quality than the oem straps that Longines typically uses in this price range.

Same here.

Very little not to praise here.

Like most have said, would be perfect at 36-38mm. A little too much negative/empty space on the dial at 40mm If the kept at 40mm, maybe some inner circular graining or a chapter ring to break up the space? Like this… Credit unknown ...

That one, yes!!!
