I've seen several B and R on rays and they look aweaome!

May I ask why the hesitation, or is it because you have not had time to fix it on yet?

Stingray straps
By: KamalRostov : November 24th, 2019-05:36
I’m toying with the idea to get a black/charcoal grey stingray pearl strap for my 114060 Sub - somewhat like the photo below. Searched the forum here and found that some of you had gone through this route before. Unfortunately, I have not found any review...
Stingray is great for a watch strap

The surface is actually composed of mineral deposits so it's very durable. The actual skin is strong but thin so you definitely want a lining and padding to suit your taste. It's also very difficult to sew because of the hard surface which is why the stin...
Thank you for your feedback 🙏🏻

Florida’s weather would be somewhat similar to the tropics where I’m at, so that’s one box ticked. I must say that your straps looks very well worn and a great combo. And thanks for the referral too.
That is a good question

Besides the different varieties of stingray available there are differences in finishing. The finish you see on high quality stingray products is usually polished. The surface is ground flat and smooth, it looks almost like glass and is not abrasive. Unpo...
Thank you again for your feedback.

I also understand that the highly polished skins are smooth enough so as not to be abrasive. On another note, rays are commercially fished (at least in South East Asia) for the region’s protien demand and consumption. The skins are by-products of that pro...
Just happen to be wearing one today. Navitimer with stingray...

I've had this band on this watch for at least five years and it's very durable and still looks new even though this watch sees a good amount of wrist time. I think the deployment buckle helps since the band never has to be flexed so I don't know how long ...
Lovely strap and combo Emil.

Good to know that the straps are quite durable. I plan to have mine on a clasp. After surfing the net, price range seems to be quite wide depending on the skin quality, ‘pearls’, hardware and of course, the finishing. Thank you for chiming in.
Good to know that Nico.

I might use mine to go diving... So construction will be with synthetic threads, SS claps etc; a more robust version, if I may use that term. Lets see how long it’ll hold up.
Lovely watch!

Thank you for sharing your photo with us. 🙏🏻 This confirms my observations that stingray straps goes with pretty much with an assortment of watches! I plan to have mine for the two Subs, one of which will be accompanying my dives 😬
Think twice before you decide

Stingrays (and Pythons too) are all caught in the wild for their skin and they not bred in farms like most alligators and crocodiles. I have to admit that I used to have an AP on a Stingray strap a few years ago. GEO
Hi Geo. Thank you for your concerns and I am well aware of it.

Do note however, in South East Asia and to an extend, Asia Pacific, stingray is primarily commercialy fished for consumption of its meat. These are of course the smaller species and not those Manta rays (or the likes).
