Going back in time this seems like the Quartz like era updated regardless how functional and the features wealth a smart watch can provide still at it core base a piece of technology device which does a lot of things among them time telling .
Quartz fell short from whipping off the mechanical watches industry in fact on the long run it had proven the favor it served to the swiss watches industry by forcing them to push the envelope further and end up at the higher status they are in today.
I am not optimistic even that the appearance of the smart watch on the scene would reflect in price drop of mechanical watches though i believe for a period of time it could suspend the escalator the watches prices are riding.
in my personal opinion as the smart watch differ from the mechanical watch so does the clientele base .
regarding Tag heuer i would love to hear from them on their experience with technology through their mobile phone project before they jump on the Smart watch boat .

It'll sell at first because of the die hard Apple fans; but as a product itself, I don't think many people will find it useful because the screen is so small. That's my take on this topic. Cheers, Anthony

It's certainly possible the first Apple watch will be a flop, don't see any killer applications for it yet. But the applications of wearable device are immense, my take on it is don't judge it by this first generations of smart watches. I mean, one could ...

More seriously, I think it is the kind of thing that will work quite well because of fans of High-Tech stuff. I've just typed "smart watch" on google and the number of brands is much more important than I expected. Some really look like regular round watc...
