My friend in Sweden lives quite happily with no lockdowns. Yes they have lost 23,000 people but so have countries that have imposed lockdowns and other restrictions.

I am not brave enough to come up with any tricks - can't afford the 12k USD fine or a six month jail term and definitely can't afford your legal fees either!

because Kuala Lumpur has been inflicted with the worst floods in its history in the last 72 hours. Roads are caving in, river banks are bursting so being at home on the 34th floor is arguably the best place to be at!

One does have to remain positive and appreciate what we have rather than what we do not!

I know of similar horror stories from other countries as well, sometimes even irrespective of vaccination status, if this is of any consolation. Let me just say I hope you'll be free as soon as possible......and I also wish the very best to your country, ... 

and for the diplomacy. Every country has its good and bad but this just highlights the differences in culture and political thinking between the East and West. I have lived in both cultures and try to take the good from both.

While being stuck at home, I must discipline myself not to reward myself with a watch from the internet!

I look at it this way - it could have been a 14 day quarantine in a hotel! At least I get to stay at home for 7 days although yes, I would much prefer to be out of course. But wearing an electronic device - that is quite sad to be put on an adult whose on...

Just travel is forbidden. I hope that the virus can stopped by this. I know that purchasing by internet is different than visit a watch store. I try to hold not buying online, albeit the profit can be so strong, my knees be weak and i order or bid online....  

Good watches these days come in all forms - quartz mechanical, spring drive, German, Japanese, American, English, French, Austrian, Dutch and even Spanish! So as much as the Swiss are pretty good at watchmaking, do check out watches from other countries t... 

does it also tell the time? or just your, er, quarantine situation?

my current wristwear states Made in Malaysia as more likely than not, it would be Made in China! If it was Made in Malaysia, I might even be tempted to breach the home quarantine iorder because there would be a good chance that it will not detect my non c... 

Just wish we could visit family, even with conditions of the free wristgear it would be bearable!!! HK is 21 days quarantine, the most excessive anywhere I think. Another Christmas away from family😩

21 days is excessive to say to the least. Makes my 7 days seem like a god sent! I am sorry though that you would be unable to visit family yet again. Keep well, stay safe and hopefully you can see them soon.

Most governments are clueless but prefer to take action rather than to do nothing at all. We the people have put our trust in them. Let's see how all this pans out in the years to come.

Of course the joy of spending Christmas again with family and friends (and picking up a new Patek! ;-)) trumps almost everything else, but as you said, especially after three doses of vaccine, it IS objectively getting difficult for many people, including...

Seems like a strong measure for the government to have to take, but I assume it was based on not trusting people to do the responsible thing and self quarantine. It’s a better outcome than the HK approach, or Australia or seven other counties that imposed... 

and as I live alone, it was granted after sending the government much documentation. There are still many who are being sent to the hotel as they live with others who were not travelling with them so there is the fear that they could be infected. Yes agre... 

People in general are just fed up with staying at home with one lockdown after another.

I was recently confined to my apartment for about 10 days. As has been the case with 99%+ of those similarly affected, I came out of everything annoyed but okay. I cleaned out my freezer. Turns out I had some pork chops and pasta that needed to be consume... 

and am well stocked up with food and ice cream!
