I'm surprised that Panerai even made it to the list..

Considering the respondents profile, average wrist sizes, preferences, etc.

It maybe saying something positive about the brand.

All the other watches mentioned have something classical to offer the average wrist sized respondent. Only AP and IWC outside of Panerai have something big to offer (if even) and most of the respondents may even be thinking about their smaller offerings and not their bigger ones (ROs vs ROOS, Portuguese/Small pilot vs Big Pilot). The only really big guy with nothing classically small to offer is Panerai. The smallest classical they can get is 44mm.

There's something to be said about the 44-47 base 2-hander in terms of indelible / unforgettable style that only Panerai can pull off (as Italians only can) albeit in a very niche market. And i can only assume that Mark Cho's instagram followers who're probably stylish folks will find it hard to dodge the 800lb gorilla of Italian styling that is Panerai.

Best, Echi

What’s is your ideal size? Wish everyone HAGWE 🥂 Jen Wow.. AP... 😳 Photo above credit to www.markcho.com m ...

Very interesting survey. This is the victory of watches from 36 to 40 mm for an average wrist size of 6 to 7" .

The author disclaimed that he got all these answers from his followers who are people who have quite some interest for watches, and fairly stated that the answer could be different from other categories of people. But still... I am convinced he is right a...

I am moving back to smaller sizes watches lately too.

Of cos I still like big watches but I wear more of my 40 38 36mm watches compared to previously more on 42 44 and even 47mm!

Very same here! [nt]

VC seems to have lost a lot of fascination, while they do have good line ups (many be too many models). Just pondering @ the thought, what would be that tad difference between PP & ALS - history?! Best, Mahesh.,

I am wondering too..

I didn’t know ALS is so popular considering I don’t have a single one in my current collection (shame on me).. but I always find their pieces too thick and chunky for me likings.

I’m sure you’re not alone...

I’ve no ALS too. For some of us, though we appreciate the finish/design et al but.... ALS carries a ‘too restraintful’ demeanor - I would prefer personally a bit more character to it 😈

glad to see Tudor in that list

My favorite isn't on the list.

My ideal size regarding type of watch :

Sport (e.g., submariner, planet ocean, etc) : 40-42 Casual (oyster perpetual, datejust, globemaster, pilot watches, etc) : 37-40 Classic dress watch (lange saxonia, omega deville, rolex cellini, etc) : 35-38 Rectangular and square watches : Lug to lug max...

Size Journey

25 years ago I was very happy with 38 to 40mm. Then Panerai, AP, Breitling and a few others conspired to do a "Emporer's New Clothes" number on what I (and obviously many others) felt was an appropriate sized watch. I let go of some mighty nice 40mm piece...

My wrist is fairly large at a bit over 7.5 inches.

 By: Katzky1 : June 15th, 2019-19:53
The minimum size for me is 37 mm. The largest watch I own is 43.5 mm which is definitely not "too big". As for an ideal size I have a preference for 42mm. I have several watches in the 37-39mm size and I never wear any of them.

I'm surprised that Panerai even made it to the list..

These Are Some Interesting Findings But...

... Why is Panerai even on the list? They've been making gigantic watches ever since... well, ever since forever. At the top of the heap is Rolex, who begrudgingly makes a 44mm watch - which means they had to build an entirely separate machine just to mil...

True But...

... If BIG watches are your thing, then Panerai is your thing. My mom used to call it "a three table watch" because you can see it from three tables away. Some PAMs are like clocks!
