So, let's have a look at these new Breitling Superocean Heritage 57.

The original: Credit picture: Fred Mandelbaum: Mine: Here we have a 38, 5 mm case, an ETA movement. a concave bezel, and a domed plexy. And now, the re editions: THE LE in black, 250 pieces: Curiously, Breitling decided to launch a new limited edition of ...

über cool

those Rainbow editions. Ans I confess I was amazed and even pissed when they introduced the blue rainbow. This is very disrespectful to those that were lucky to get the black. That aside it was a big mistake from Breitling to make only 250 black rainbow a...

Well, I totally hear you about then launch of the Limited Blue only 6 weeks after the black. Now, as for good value for money, I don't know... The Tudor BB has a great in house movement...

And is less expensive than this Breitling ETA powered... And I don't even mention the Longines Legend Diver, which was a bit above 1000 Euros when launched, with the same ETA movement... Now, as said, I really have to see these Rainbow, in the metal. Than...

We all know in-house movements are marketing BS ;-)

The Tudor BB eta and the Tudor in-house BB had as good as the same price. I believe it was barely 250 euro difference About the quality... ETA and Selita ( cause Breitling uses both for that Calibre) deliver superb quality I honestly don’t care anymore if...

That's true

Actually I would prefer the BB with the ETA movement because it is thinner and more elegant. ETA movement such as the 2892, 7750 are predictable workhorses. If the wheel isn't broken, why fix it? It is embarassing for houses such as IWC to put a new mecha...

Nothing beats the original..

however the rainbow colours looks very different and daring. The concave bezel I do find a bit awkward, looks a bit strange, in my mind a bezel platform should be the opposite. But than again I have never seen one in real life . Amazing collection you hav...

These watches certainly need to be seen before any judgement.

Some pictures gave me the impression of a very large bezel vs the dial other pictures the proportion seems better... The "Rainbow" models are surprising but also fun. My very initial thought however was: Oh no,not another vintage re-issue (applies to all...

You have a point. I was just on the road to dismiss that Breitlings, and praise the good ol Navitimers. Breitling the aviation brand. Why diving? Aaaa Breitling need the cash.

Right.

They made diving watches, and known about aviation watches.

That's it. [nt]

Mesh bracelet with sand - can anyone comment?

 By: cazalea : May 21st, 2020-03:55
That seems a poorly-suited choice to me. Of course one can wash the bracelet out in fresh water but if you’re using the watch frequently in salt and sand ... I guess this is really a desk diver? Cazalea

Rainbow is fun!

And will match with any t shirt or swimming trunks worn on the beach. The change of dial colour on the second limited edition is more respectful to the purchasers Of the 1st limited addition than Piaget’s re-issue of the green faced polo with it’s subtle ...

Like the not-so-subtle colouring of the hands

 By: jmpTT : May 21st, 2020-05:13
The hand colours were chosen to look very cohesive when the watch is photographed at 10:08. How will it look at 7:21 though? A serious question for a fun watch!

LOL! [nt]
