An era
The times modern watches ages is going to end i think. Dials, and even the cheaper watches are from a quality that kept aging away.
A nice, even, subtle patina is fine...
...but I am insulted by 'Tropical' dials that everyone insists are 'rare' and 'valuable' and sellers demand huge dollars for...
It's Timepiece Dependent
As others said, it depends on the piece. While we know bronze cased timepiece show age at a faster pace than platinum, rust itself is visually more acceptable with bronze imho than platinum.

yeah it's over-aged but as a visual object... forgetting other considerations... I can easily read the time... and I like the patina a LOT. Character!!
