I know what you mean because me too I have memories attached to things I owned. I don’t want to call myself hoarder but I just not ready yet..

My recent flirt with “flushing” and starting again is much fuelled by the Mrs. She need to change most of the furnitures sofa and tv and tables etc etc every year and she has this constant need to do minor renovation and all the properties is under constant repairs and upgrading or some sort.. despite I have not trifled her thoughts, I have never stopped or comment anything because I believe happy wife happy life.. 😅

However.. Lately I find myself giving these some deep thoughts.. ...  Am I entering the dark side I often wonder!

HAGWE and thank you for chiming in.

Have you all ever thought of selling off EVERYTHING (watches, cars, boats, houses, buildings and all properties etc etc) and restart all over again? I have that random thought lately. Just feel like restarting everything from scratch.. haha I am crazy? Ok...

More than once! Somehow all these items become a sort of burden.

The idea to start from scratch (with some cash 😀) seems highly tempting. But instead of putting it again towards luxury items I would try to put it to towards something more precious like taking time for me and loved ones, giving back to society etc. Grea...

I do it all the time and more and more.

I don't need to sell or get rid of anything I just change how my time is spent. The most precious commodity is time not money. Choose who and how you want to spend your time not your materials. This is how the field is leveled. Time over money choose how ...

Being able to choose how you spend your time is the ultimate luxury!!

You can achieve this in a few ways. 1. Have very little therefore need very little. No need to make a big paycheck every week which frees your time up away from work. 2. Have a lot and make a lot. This usually traps you into the rat race. Needing to make ...

Yes. Lately a good friend of mine pass away age 42. Just 15 months ago he was still jolly and enjoying his life.. seeing his rapid deterioration in such short time frame is a real wake up call for myself and I vow to reassess my priorities.. That’s why I ...

Personally, when I embarked in this hobby I wanted to find the one watch that would make me happy, but with so much noise from friends, blogs, web, it became a never ending hobby/obsession. Now, after almost two decades in it, and over one hundred watches...

The real happiness is inside you just have to find it.

I have a few watches and take my time if "I would buy another one". But I am a peace ...I am not chasing anything. Regards.

Actually not because I want to restart my life from scratch but just because I realised one day I was accumulating watches in a way that I could not enjoy each of them fully so I decided years ago to downsize my collection and acquire only very few pieces...

Nice Mike.

I love the Wonder watch. I would like to acquire one someday. I hope your convalescence goes well. I know from a childhood brush with death that without health you have nothing. I am sure you have perspective on this as I do. I have a Patek 5270R and 5416...

The Wonder Watch was my dream for 20 years before I could get one. Before it was a dream that was enchanting my nights, now it is a dream alive . 5270R is surely a beautiful Watch. I was about to pull the trigger to buy a 5970 but I renounced at the end. ...

Yes 5146R. I enjoy the watch for a number of years. My 1st Patek purchased from my AD

Happy New Year to you. The journey is half the fun with this crazy watch hobby. Most of my friends don’t understand watches. I am so glad we have the forum to share our passion. A beautiful watch to me is timeless and brings continuous joy. This is import...

I think it is a common mid life thought process.

God willing, I’ll be 58 by month’s end. These train of thoughts had on many occasions crossed my mind... In my teens, twenties... and way past my 50s. What ifs... the choices would be lmitless, and the resulting consequence, exponential. But every time th...
