High End for the era Beta 21 tuning fork watches are quite collectable and have a smooth moving seconds hand, not ticking. And modern quartz can have great functionality such as this A-13 A

chronograph mission timer. Independant set hour hand for traveller`s , interval lap time possible and `flyback`return to the Original running lap time, and very legible.  So there is a lot to like in quartz, and UHF is extremly precize and GS makes some beatiful and/or practical quartz watches.

Anything made to professional standards

Grand Seiko quarts as an example is a piece of art. Another very high quality movement is Rolex Quartz as you find it in the oyster quartz models. If I could afford it, that would be my daily beater and I could retire my trusted old 1601. Old-timer quartz...

What are you considering Thomas?

I would only consider high end quartz movement for wall clocks- I have a really cool Sinn at my factory, which also coordinates its time with Frankfurt. really really cool- ...

Nothing definite at the moment, looking at all options, I would like another watch to add to the collection.

Doing research and looking for opinions here on the forum as I don't want to end up with buyer's remorse over what I may end up with. If I bore anyone with my blitz of questions let me know. I just want to be satisfied with what ever I choose, looking at ...

Which are very well made and super accurate. One to +/- 10secs per year. One to +/- 5secs per year. They look great, are well made inside and out, so for me they form a valuable part of a broad based collection. Gary

Not what I'm drawn to for a high end watch but have a few I like. Breitling Aerospace probably my favorite. Have a Seiko solar diver that seems quite good for its mission and price

and was tempted by a steel GS with a blue dial that I kept looking at until someone grabbed it. With GS I might need one to round things out as I have one high beat and one spring drive. I also liked the "disco ball" tungsten Rado chrono I had and now wis...

My long-term complaint has been about the battery life. My Mrs. has an older all-gold/diamond AP-RO with the monocoque case. It is Quartz. It costs a small fortune for AP Clearwater to replace the battery every 3 years. The cost of ownership is out of wha...

The FP Journe Elegante is a very popular choice here...

Quartz just doesn't excite me very much. It's like electric cars vs gasoline cars. But, are electric cars generally "better" than gasoline cars? Probably. They're faster, they respond incredibly, etc. etc. etc. That being said, I currently drive two cars;...
