Good observation! Yes, this one is a Sellita, but it is modified by Schwarz Etienne.

Quoting MING's press release, "We have worked with our partners Manufacture Schwarz-Etienne to develop an independenthour hand adjustment mechanism, based on the Sellita SW330-2. This complication and modification is exclusive to MING. The intermediate crown position now advancesthe hour hand independently tothe rest of the gear train, which continuesto run. This is both useful for daylight savingstime as well as for when travel resumes globally. Both hands can of course be adjusted together in the third crown position, where the movement also hacks." The thin 27.01 mentioned was a ETA movement but heavily modified by Schwarz Etienne.

MING 17.09 Announcement
By: patrick_y : April 12th, 2021-11:48
As many of you already know, I'm a huge fan of the MING 27 series, their "thin" watch that has a "TRON" (the movie) look that is great for modern environments. In Silicon Valley, the luxury vibe is all about modernity and elegance mixed together. Think el...
allowed to buy one...

...of each variant. so you can buy both! and if you're not in a hurry/willing to wait ~1 year, you don't even need fast fingers like in past ming sales. simply place the order during the 10-minute window (i'm shooting for both, earlier).
it ain't over yet, there's more in batch 2
By: jiggerly-cool : April 14th, 2021-08:26
the downside is one will have to wait two months longer than if one was successful today as aggretsuko says, "tomorrow is a new day!"
i totally get what you mean about being unable to wait
By: jiggerly-cool : April 15th, 2021-07:39
tried grabbing a 17.09 burgundy just now. sad to say, i wasn't quick enough. while there's a 10-min ordering window tomorrow, i won't buy there because i can't bear to wait a year. also, i figure at this point one's better off putting the budget toward wh...
Same here...

I was able to get a 17.09 blue on the second offering. But not the burgundy. I too don't see myself waiting for 11 months to get a watch neither!

Wasn't fast enough for the Aug batch
Who knows.
By: Bounce781 : April 17th, 2021-02:40
Maybe August or something
the existing owners batch
By: jiggerly-cool : April 20th, 2021-19:44
so it really should never have reached 2022 (hah!) seems i'm at the tail end of the first batch, which i suppose has an aug-to-oct window. odds are second batch is oct to feb/mar, then 10-min window is march and after
Gotcha!
By: patrick_y : April 21st, 2021-16:23
I hope to get mine early too. But I'm in the first public batch.
Ah cool!

You’ll get yours the Soonest. Can’t wait to see it in the metal. Cheers
Thanks for the post

I couldn’t resist the brushed/guilloche finish of the blue dial so I ordered one. This would be my second on top of the Monolith. I too think they are pretty good value, and the limited production of the watch makes it even more appealing to own. A fun wa...
Looks decent.

Pricing also seems very reasonable. I was wondering if Schwarz Etienne was involved in the movement this time round and then saw it was a Sellita machine.
