For me, I prefer simple, functional watches.

Aesthetically, world time watches are very nice, and arouse interest among friends.  But technically, I only need a dual time function, one for on-location time, the other for home time.

Having said this, one day I'll still acquire a world time watch.

Cheers, Henry

Travel function watches....

Which type do you prefer, and why? Examples below, apologize if I missed other candidates 1. World Time, like Patek Philippe’s cream 523x? I wish I have this one day - so using GP - similar to PP but much “affordable” relatively 2. ALS Lange 1 Timezone 3...

and normal here. It’s good to have options. Thanks Henry.

Find number one the most appealing...

It may not be more practical but it’s certainly more romantic 😊

The WT is very easy to see an overall time around the world...

in a glance....that is additional bonus. Nice choice 👍🏻

What about this Breguet?

The simpler GMT model is sufficient if you need to know just two time zones. However, if you are communicating with several time zones, the world timer is better. For example, you need to call Hong Kong at 10 am, but expecting a call from Dubai at 6 pm. W...

Once you get used to the design, it’s not that cluttered...

Just like when I first looked at the Breguet, it looks busy but a nice watch 👍🏻 The Lange TZ is reading the small sub-dial at the 5 o’clock for the 2nd time zone, so it’s not really a WT. The Lange and Rolex all allows adjusting the hour hands in one hour...

Absolutely right

The Breguet 3700 has basic hacking seconds, but does not change hours independently. Surprising, this inexpensive highly complicated Longines does... www.watchprosite.com

I meant the 5110x, 5131x are all great choices 👍🏻

So are the JLC Duometre...Thanks for adding. I don’t remember how the UN Sonata functions as a travel watch? I thought it’s just alarm?

I prefer

Pateks WTers, for some at this forum not a big surprise 😂 but if money was not an issue a GMT like this would be nice ...

Haha....says the collector who just collected the premium WT 5131P....

Congratulations by the way. This GF is definitely great but like you said, not many have the wallet and maybe a wrist to pull it off. Thanks for the nice input.

Rolex Explorer II 16570

Versatile, tough, functional, flies under the radar. Exactly what you need when traveling.

That’s true, both the black and polar has become very popular nowadays.

Nice choice. Thank you.

The simplest of them all

...

Simple??? I don’t think so...

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 18th, 2019-14:18
It’s got a map on it 😂...I see a 3rd arrow hand, so it’s a GMT? Great UN.

Simple enough if you know Geography :)

 By: Denes_Papp : April 19th, 2019-04:06
The arrow hand is a date indicattor. You just locate the city you are interested in (here is geography needed) and read the time of the Sun dial with the numbers, then you can easily adjust the hour hand with the side pushers to the time. The watc takes c...

Is the UN GMT the once pictured above thread?

 By: Clueless_Collector : April 18th, 2019-14:19
It is very nice, and I’m not seen the Sonata or paid attention to the traveling function, as I replied to Nico above, I thought it’s just an alarm watch.

The GP And The Lange...

 By: elliot55 : April 18th, 2019-19:25
... Are simply fantastic. Sure, the Rolex GMT is the perennial GO TO watch, but the GP is probably the most practical, great value. The Lange? Oh my, perfection beyond! But can only be afforded by a few.

GP is the most practical and great value...

Only if it’s from used or grey, unfortunately for original owners and good for new owners. Lange is very respectable brand for sure. Thanks Elliot.
