Following your advice... PP World Timer 5930G-001

Hi everyone.

Recently I posted for the first time asking thoughts/opinions about consolidating ones collection and “upgrading” it to fewer, more prestigious pieces.
With money being a limiting factor (for most) the questions “how many” and “which” watches was the focus.

In my mind, I like the idea of a 5-watch collection. I currently have two Omega (Apollo17 LE & Speednaster Moonphase), a Rolex Yachtmaster 40 (Blue) and a Patek Philippe 5960/01G-001. I’d like to add an A. Lange & Sohne (Saxonia Annual Calendar) and a Panerai Luminor 1950 (Either the PAM1535 or the PAM1392) and I’d eventually sell the Apollo17 LE. (I’m also on the WL for a Blue Dial SkyDweller... isn’t everyone?!)

So, in the feedback I received, a few people mentioned Patek’s World Timers. I checked these out online, but the only one that caught my eye was the 5930G-011. Then, yesterday, I saw it in the metal for the first time:

You guys were correct! A truley stunning piece! However, my 5-watch-collection ambitions would take a bit of a knock if I we’re to go for this! Is it “settling” to sacrifice ones Rolex, Omegas and never buy that Panerai or SkyDwelker...?

Do the 5960/01G-001 and the 5930G-001 cover all your bases...?

Or... is variety the spice of life...?

And... if it is... Patek are there for that, too:

Please help!!

BW,

Daniel

. . . blows the field away. One man's opinion. M4

The only thing is that you will have two watches with very close movements. When it comes to brands such as Patek, I would go for a watch with a much different movement than your 5960.

Other than that, and if it is not that important for you, GO! And, why not, consider a third one, the Nautilus Chrono, too! This way, you will have all the variations on the same movement. Why not! Best, Nicolas
