Window shopping…which do you prefer?

I was quite smitten by the laureto as well as the submersible with the blue dial. What doesn’t show from the picture is the blue dial is lacquered while the black on the other Submersible is mate… ...

IWC, not a fan of submersibile...

and also not a fan of that GP model. I think the IWC 43 is fantastic and has 100mt water resistance + easy to change straps (is not so user friendly on a panerai or GP).

+1 It looks very impressive on your wrist.

I also like the other two, although these submersibles with little blue accents aren’t the favorite.

Thanks Vallura!

I need to add to the classic dressy watch category and also one more bracelet sport/classy watch

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:16
I know the Panerai don’t fit any of these two but it was the first time I could try a submersible in the flesh and I thought they were nice to

I really love the GP, but the movement seem subpar compared to other offerings…

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:14
I never owned one so I don’t really know but would be afraid to get it and then have a 10+ sec/day watch?

What do you mean?

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:23
After all my username is chronometer! So it does play some role in my thought process rightfully or wrongfully

Ha! Good one!

Iwc clearly

 By: @lberti : November 21st, 2021-00:13

It does look really nice on the wrist indeed

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:17

I love the GP but I hate the date at 4:30...

By: India Whiskey Charlie : November 21st, 2021-00:19
That leads us to the BP 43 which is clearly based on an iconic series of pilots' watches. One of the very few worthy offerings from their current catalogue.

Indeed! I forgot to check what strap size it uses

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:21

Yup! Stunning!

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-00:38

The group being diverse here had more to do with watches that were in stock which was not that much! I do plan to add a submersible to my panerai collection for sure …

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-11:27
And that blue dial one just moved to the top of that list! Just not sure if this will be my next purchase just yet…😉

I like the GP. Though I prefer the look of the standard model.

 By: BigAppleBill : November 21st, 2021-01:27
I tried one on for the first time recently and I was impressed by the look and the comfort of the bracelet. ...

Tough choice. With your impressive collection of chronometers, I am worried that any/all of these would disappoint you.

 By: Lankysudanese : November 21st, 2021-02:22
The GP is lovely (from a case, dial, and bracelet perspective), but the modular chrono and 4:30 would always bother me.

Good point my friend, thought I must say all my current Panerai (which all share the P3000 manual movement - the submersible have the P9xxx) actually have amazing accuracy

They all are at + or - 2 sec/day! To be honest I went to try the new omega chronoscope which was the main reason for my visit…but was disappointed with how it felt in the flesh, so started to look at other stuff for fun!

My only PAM (a 359) was +3s/day. 💪🏿💪🏿

 By: Lankysudanese : November 21st, 2021-11:41
And your first impression of the chronoscope mirrors what other people felt. I believe that you no longer wear your speedie auto racing because of the winding difficulty and non-crisp Chrono activation: this is the same movement

The omega chronoscope, for a 43mm watch, I found the hands too thin and harder to read in person and I can’t get over the bracelet going down to 16mm at the buckle…

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 21st, 2021-11:46
While I liked the close up pictures of its dial when it came out…something is lacking in the flesh…and actually what bugs me the most on the racing speedy and so many other speedy is how big and distracting the chrono second hand is on the dial when not b...

The omega in question

Ah. The panda.

I have never been a fan of the APerregaux....oh I mean the GPerregaux Laureato

IWC BP is a great watch. I have the 45mm and love it. So that would be my choice here. But which one goes best with your collection? I am an IWC fan and also a Panerai fan, but the Submersible is not my fave. I bought 2 submersibles and ended up letting t...

The GP first and then

 By: MTR : November 21st, 2021-12:12
the IWC for me. The blue dialed Pam doesn’t work for me. The small date window looks … strange with this black grey background in combination with the blue dial. At least for me this is a problem. All the best Thomas

Thanks for commenting! Cheers

Mmmm, tough choice except for one

 By: neville : November 21st, 2021-21:04
Least favourite of the 3 would be the IWC, another watered down marketing exercise. One watch I would LOVE to have but got to be the "proper" sized version. I am a massive Panerai fan, I will leave it there, I love them. I also have a massive appreciation...

Thanks Neville! The panerai were great indeed!

The Lauredo collection is really nice indeed!

I have a soft spot for GP

Yes the Lauredo does feel great on the wrist

By: Chronometer (aka yacomino) : November 23rd, 2021-14:37

I have the IWC BP 43 and frankly it wears very nicely...

 By: nacelle : November 23rd, 2021-12:32
I prefer the big brothers but the 43 ticks most of the boxes for a date free BP that looks the part... First choice the IWC followed by the PAM's

Thanks for your comment nacelle!
