A bomb I am hunting for many years. There was one auctioned by Dr Crott, which I sadly missed. 37 mm steel case, enamel dial. Maybe next time... Even if the bird is rare! Best, Nicolas ...

That is now the second time I have ever seen the Longines dial signature's font in inclined capital letters. Everywhere else they are erect. Clive

Why isn’t Longines one of the top players? And I don’t mean in sale numbers but in ‘coolness’. The have got the name. The history. Well...the works. Some folks at the Swatch group are seriously missing something. Longines could be up there with Omega. Eve... 

It has to be the (diminished) marketing of the brand . . .

I only have the one Longines manual wind 1963 "Jamboree" with a current value at less than 25% of the value for a then contemporary, comparative manual wind Omega. But the quality of that Longines movement appears to me to be superior to the Omega eg the ... 

I didn't know that James Bond originally wore a Girard Perregaux. A Diver? As for Longines, there were some col watches in the late fifties and sixties.

Some of them are stars among collectors, such as the Diver, for example, or some 30 CH. What went wrong? I don't know... The Quartz era killed a lot of brands, possibly Longines, and then the politics of the Swatch Group did the rest... Probably... Best, ...

This one is an absolute heavyweight, with a renowned movement. Worth many years of effort, or however long it takes to find the right example. Good luck in your search.
