Different Hands

Jun 15, 2019,17:56 PM

Hello All, I am not an avid watch collector nor well versed in the correct terminology, for that I apologise in advance. Sorry for the image quality, the iPhone is all I have. My wife has this from an estate and is seeking information on its value. This will be sold at some point when we feel we have the correct information and this seems to be the best source I have found so far. I note that the hands are different to all I have seen in many photos as is the middle winding dial. Any information or input would be greatly appreciated. If an offer is in your mind email me direct [Email address suppressed for privacy].

Born in 1961, the Vulcain Nautical is the first Compressor Case Diving Watch with Alarm. Not the first vintage diving watch with an alarm, since the place is held by the Jaeger Lecoultre Deep Sea alarm ( 1959 ), but made two years before the first protos ...

Without you uncovering and presenting all of these interesting timepieces I for one would certainly have a lot less exposure to and knowledge of such a wonderful array of watches. I really appreciate what you do, and hope you keep showing your own collect...

What is improper about the hands?

They seem to match the shape and design of the hands on my 2011 Nautical Trophy reissue, although mine have a too-wide lume strip: (The hobnail bezel is new on this model.) Ano “More Vulcain Crickets, please” Nuevo ...

I’ve been thinking about the modern Vulcain Nautical Trophy!

I know it's not my business at all...but what's going on last couple of days is beyond me. You claim it's your friends watch but that very same watch was for years in your collection You showed it to us on many GTGs. You said to many of us it is yours but...

Aaah Damjan, you don't know all the story... I had it, I gave it back to its owner after a while, because of these hands. Now, I think I can try to fix that, with a new set of hands from the Tribute.

Since they are linked to the same movement. I just have to remove the luminova and replace it with tritium, and it will look much better than it is right now. Even if it is not very orthodox... But it will help me to wait for a set of proper hands, which ...

The good hands, by the way...

From another friend, who found them, from what he told me, in Italy. His watch had the very same problem than my ex mine. ...

To add to the confusion, here is another one with a different second hand.

On the 1966 version, like the two other I posted. Hard to tell which second hand is the good one. ...
