Authorized Dealer Experience

Hi all- Just wanted to share a recent experience I had with an AD and get some opinions. I will leave the name of the AD out of the post as i'm more interested in opinions rather than shaming the AD.
First, it's important to point out that I have a purchase history with the AD (a single watch valued at approx $20K so not a small purchase) about 1 year ago.
The AD is not in my city so I communicate with an employee of the AD by text. This is the way the first purchase was completed. Also important to note the employee has been in this industry for 30 years, so not a young new employee.
Over the past year I have texted with this employee regarding a few watches, all very amicable. Yesterday, I made an offer on a $40K watch. My offer, $37K all in (including tax and shipping). The watch is a from a brand that makes very few watches but is not very popular (an independent brand). My previous purchase from the AD (about 14 months ago) was a watch made by the same brand and I received a discount. This is the reason I felt I could ask for a discount again.
The reply to my text offer was a "HA HA" emoji, nothing else. In essence, an AD employee "laughed" at a $37K offer from a previous customer.
I was taken aback by this response and texted the employee back that I was offended by the response, I also emailed the store owner to make him aware.
Long story short, the final outcome after some back and forth emails and texts was was sorry "i" felt that way and they will try to do better as "some clients might be more highly sensitive than others".
Was I out of line with my offer?
Did I overreact to someone laughing at an offer that was reasonable IMHO?
Just curious how others would react to this experience.
Thanks
Hank
