Am I right to say that the size of boxes has increased over time? I began as a full set buyer but boxes are so large I too am squeezed for space.

I’d like watches to be smaller and nicely made. Bijou is always better than big in my view.

...of my watch boxes I do collect watches only "full set" which for sure creates problems to find the space to stock all these boxes! The current collection has 51 watches with a wide variety of brands and price points. The most popular brand,in number of...

Well done for keeping all the boxes!

I too am like you as I try to only buy new watches with box and papers but unlike you my collection is five times smaller!

Agreed!

Some LV watches come in a trunk, literally(!), making that Duometre box look oh so petite & dainty 😹

most of these boxes, especially the regular cardboard ones are of no particular meaning/value thus only burden the owner with somehow preserving them. The ones that are undeniably beautiful, despite being somewhat large, are the quality wood boxes like Br...

Ugh, I hate dealing with large watch boxes

And we all know how such a stupid missing box can influence resale value.

I know, I know

If only I could finally give up on new watches for good!

A box is the cherry

For me a new or used watch is complete when i unbox it. Sure, after the box wil stored. I made a shelf for my boxes. I never buy a watch for it’s box. I buy a watch, and than i must place the box somewhere. On a shelf. 🫵🏼

Really nice post!

You definitely need a lot of real estate to store these! The box for me adds to the experience, and it completes the whole ensemble (even though you will be the only one to see it, when you see it). Again, a great post and wonderful photos!

Oh! I like this post!

I like boxes! And thank you for the warning about smelly boxes! Yes! Some of those watch boxes are made of toxic things! Even Patek Philippe's boxes are made with a varnish that probably isn't great for the environment! Thanks for posting a bit about your...
