What besides watches??

 By: Thomas_3 : February 11th, 2019-21:38
We all meet and share our experiences and various watches here. We all come from different backgrounds, cities, states and countries, and we all like watches. What else do some of you like to collect? I like my watches and I also like to collect nice pens...

Interesting topic! Apart from watches...

I used to collect stamps when I was young. Now I have a crazy amount of model cars at 1/43 or 1/18 scale, mostly road cars, vintage to modern. Funny that I am also fond of nice Cufflinks, a have a fair few, but like you I hardly ever wear any of them. As ...

What model manufacturers do you tend to go for?

That’s a lot...

 By: DSF : February 12th, 2019-23:02
exoto, cmc, Autoart, minichamps, schuco, hotwheels, schuco, even resin models like MR, looksmart, GT spirts etc etc Basically everything. To me it is the subject car that is the most important. Then I will choose diecast over resin and high end over lower...

Since I can’t afford the real cars, this is the next best thing lol. Having my own mini car museum. Best, David

Wow, very nice. One of my sons started collecting Hot Wheels Ferraris.

 By: Thomas_3 : February 13th, 2019-19:22
He has every model ever made and all are still unopened in the original packaging.

Thanks a lot!

 By: DSF : February 13th, 2019-23:42
Wow! It’s a fantastic way to study Ferrari car history for your son. I personally think it’s more enjoyable to display them out of the boxes = ) Best, David

Plus the two giant coffee table books he has on Ferrari. He had his displayed in a special frame type holder on his wall, it looked pretty cool.

He is way too old to play with them but he said he would never get rid of them.

Wow!

 By: DSF : February 15th, 2019-18:33
Do you have a picture of his collection? It must look mighty impressive! Best, David

This is fantastic...

Mine is only around 20 pieces 😊 Also using exactly the same procedure as you in selecting them, most of them having ended up being AutoART.

Interesting angle

 By: Jurry : February 12th, 2019-00:01
You’ve scratched an interesting angle. Hypothetically you might expect a kind of similarity in the answers I would guess cuff links, writing instruments and perhaps whiskeys will be common denominators (and cars for the more fortunate people) But other to...

It does not surprise me that purists collect stuff and it is a regular complaint at home. At least my watches take up little space although some purists here appear to have vast quantities of watch paraphernalia stored! I have collected fountain pens, whi...

. . . I think of cues like golfers think of their clubs: as essential tools. But, yeah, after a dozen or so with another half dozen on order, I guess I'm a collector. Or, at the very least, addicted. I mean, who really needs a snakewood cue with a persimm...

Most of which I no longer have. The only other thing going on at the moment are 1/18 car models, even if I am parted from all of them right now (didn’t make it to Moscow). Cufflinks and ties aplenty but I would not call that collecting, even if I hardly u...

.. the edge does take a few days to settle after one shave. In practice, two or three razors is probably enough.

Just 1 of 12 straights

 By: Watch_This : February 15th, 2019-19:19
12 is not a very elaborate collection compared to many people. I also have probably 6 double edge razors. This is a Dubl Duck Wonderedge 6/8”... oh, and a Patek 5135j— sold separately, batteries not included Cheers Drew ...
