A reason to share my thoughts...

I’ve had this exact model since it was first released in 2008. It works perfectly with a suit and on weekend camping trips. I regularly use the 24 hour bezel to time conference calls around the world. This watch didn’t miss a beat after a 4’ drop on a tile floor that dinged its case; the same drop broke my Omega Planet Ocean. (The lesson learned is to not juggle watches and babies together.) Anyway, this watch finally needed service in 2019 and only the basic service was required.

As for my criticisms, there are only two. The RSC couldn’t exactly align the triangle marker on the bezel with the 12 o’clock triangle marker on the dial, even after two attempts. As an admittedly anal-retentive engineer, this is driving me nuts, especially since the bezel was perfectly aligned prior to service. My second criticism is that the lugs are too sharp at the outside corners. My young boys observed this during “daddy wrestling” when they felt their sharpness. The prominence of the GMT’s lugs became more apparent after I received my Daytona 116503 and compared the two.

IMHO This is a perfectly understated luxury tool watch.

Best,
Ira

I need it to be more versatile, on rubber or steel because where I live and used to travel humidity rate is almost 80%. [nt]

But thank you I do appreciate those Nomos. Last days I was thinking about buying one and asking to customized the city with my home town

WOW! Could they do that for you? [nt]

I don’t know but I’ve seen one with New York on the dial

I assume it’s a sort of limited edition but it’d a clever idea. In créole my home town is Lapwent I’d love to have that on my dial.

I have a feeling that a bracelet for the 17 06 (non-Monolith) will appear this year. Or else the 17.03 is not hard to find, used, and the bracelet for the 03 is still on sale on the Ming website. ...

I get this feeling you'll end up with a GMT2 anyway..

If I really needed a GMT, I'd look for one that's nice to use like a UN for example or a straightforward Reverso Duo (which unfortunately doesn't have a rubber or bracelet option). But if it's just a simple home time affair and taking into account your cr...

Grand Seiko GMT - available in several dial and case styles on bracelet or strap. Obscure but nifty — Ikepod by Marc Newsome who styled the Apple Watch. Separately adjustable hours and minutes using only the crown on both main dial and subdial at 12 plus ...

Rolex GMT or Explorer?

 By: Fastwong : January 20th, 2020-23:54
Given your criteria sounds like a new strap/bracelet for the JLC or just track down a Rolex GMT is the way to go in that size range. If I had to get a travel watch now a 42mm Explorer would be top of my list because I like the bigger everything (except he...

They have quite a few GMT watches in their portfolio and are, from a quality point of view,at least on the same level as Rolex.

I definitly will [nt]

If what happens around a brand or what others think influences you than you’ll never find “your”watch.

I have a very good relationship with my AD, meaning I get most models that I want, and I still had to wait for my Pepsi quite a lot, but that’s what makes it special. Also patience is a virtue.

I’m not like the fact other looks at my wrist. This instagram trends focus the attention non enthusiasts on our wrist.

And I think Rolex is the pinnacle of that. I wasn’t worried a couple of years back, now in Paris I prefer my JLC. I was at my barber a couple of weeks ago and a young teenager maybe 15 years old asked me if my submariner was a true or not. I asked him whe...
