A hidden gem!
Aug 03, 2021,15:20 PM
Last week, in a collaboration with the Scottish watch company, anordain, the Windup Watch Company released three limited editions of 50 watches each. Of the three, one was with a silver dial, one with a black dial but the one that caught my eye was the salmon dial version. Needless to say, that sold out within a few hours and I kept adding my name to the wait list. Due to the time difference (me being based in Malaysia) the watch became available between 2am and 5am and every time I did try placing an order after waking up, the watch was unavailable.
Finally the watch became available once again at 10.45pm tonight (half an hour ago!) and I quickly placed my order. The watch costs only USD1,250 but what a watch it is. 38mm in diameter, 11mm in height with a ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. I love the dial, the hands, the lugs and the absence of a date makes it more attractive to me. I look forward to receiving this hidden gem later this year.
Thank you for reading!

AnOrdain make great pieces. That one looks brilliant! Here are some distant cousins π ...
Totally agree.

Amazing value and great people behind the brand. If itβs not an imposition and in case you are interested, here is a podcast I did with Lewis Heath (AnOrdain founder) for the FifthWrist Radio podcast. Great guy and a great brand!
Thank you sharing!

I am actually partial to all things Scottish and hope to buy a home there one day so a watch made in Glasgow was a no brainer!
Thanks Mahesh!

My only qualm would be the case height could have been reduced to under 9mm instead of the current 11mm, the latter being a feature throughout the anOrdain range. I look forward ton trying this watch on and will post more photos then.
Perfection is in the eyes of the beholder :-)

You know me Mahesh - never have watch collectors been spoiled with such a wide array of brands to choose from so we in turn can afford to discriminate and choose the very best for ourselves!
