Even in contemporary times, during which divorce rates are relatively high, there are plenty of happy marriages to be found. However, in the world of vintage watch collecting, the phrase carries far different connotations. In fact, amongst vintage collect...

VZSS gave lots of influence on the then-future watchmakings...

... one of whichi is Mr. Dufour's SImplicity.... This VZSS is C version, so please ignore something on the bridge... And I this is Simplicity (flipped to show from the similar angle) See some similarity? Ken ...

Yes...

I do see the resemblance. The same can, of course, be seen with the influence of the Peseux 260. In both cases, however, I'd choose the original over the updated versions. Cheers, Tony C.

Great post and very "authentic" looking watch...

Your diamond dial sub-second version was instrumental in attracting me to the VZ series. Best, Tony C.

i'm a firm believer in movements being married to cases rather than having them disposed of as that would be unthinkable. your watchmaker has done a beautiful job with quite a lot of help from our friend Bill. Bill did the same for me many years ago. i bo...

I've not held any distinct prejudices against such marriages, I think redials (or plainly fake dials) and inappropriate mixing and matching are still difficult to tolerate though.

Great post

The balance between striving for the greatest degree of orginal condition and the preservation of horological heritage is not straightforward to my mind. Rare and distinguished calibres such as yours should not be discarded as worthless even if separated ...

Ouch! To have found an original of these!!

This is very nice! These are very rare pieces! I had a chance to purchase one about 6 years ago and didn't know what I was looking at, and passed it ! Kicking myself since! :) Do show us more photos once you've strapped it on the wrist! S

Great get!
