Rolex watches are superbly reliable. APs are great-looking watches but not known for their reliability.

Day Date for me had to be in Yellow Gold or nothing and ideally in 36mm....

It depends on how they fit in the rest of your collection and a number of other factors...but if I have to choose all other things being equal, the AP would be my keeper ;-)

I honestly don't know how to help you decide, lol. Some questions you can ask yourself. Do you have a preference regarding SS or PM? Which piece offers more contrast between dial and bracelet? How does each piece make you feel when wearing it? Will this b...

An accomplishment as a collector... But AP is far harder to collect... You decide. I like the AP for its design and execution. The Rolex probably is easier to replace...
