The Manufacture
Royale 1770 Voltige is a new timepiece with a visually striking
escapement displayed on the anthracite dial. Here are a few
live pictures that I took a few months ago at JCK 2015 in Las
Vegas.
The 45mm stainless steel case and lug design
is uniquely styled within the collection, with the two metal areas that
form the lugs that curve around the center case and angled downward for a
better fit on the wrist. Another detail that I like is the
domed crystal that matches the curves of the overall watch.
The movement is the MR05 automatic movement
that provides 40 hours of power reserve and displays the hour and
minutes. A subdial at the 6 o'clock position indicates the
seconds. When handled in person and viewed up close at an
angle, the escapement seems to float / levitate around the space above
the dial.
And here's a video I wanted to
share of the 1770 Voltige to show the escapement movement and the
dial.

So what do PuristS think of the
escapement design and the case shape? I think it looks great
visually with the space around the escapement where it looks like it's
floating on the dial with the large balance
wheel.
More pics from the Manufacture Royale
collection coming up soon in a separate
post.

Knowing Manufacture Royale, the finishing of the movement would be first class but it looks like a similar concept to the MB&F LM101 which has a power reserve indicator instead of the seconds hand. And we all know how amazing the finishing is on the L...
Hi Sham, Thanks for your comparison with the Androgyne and sharing your thoughts on the 1770 Voltige! I can see some similarities that you point out as it looks similar with the LM101 that has the balance wheel centered on the dial and the 40mm case being...
Nice MB&F, from my understanding Eric Giroud worked on the designs of your 101 and also this Royale 1770 Voltige. Both look nice, I like how the balance wheel pops up from the dial. Regards, ED-209
