How is it done? Hit reply and then what? I tried every which way but I get a bounce. ...  

With my new email address I have no problems... I will send you a PM as a test, please reply from email and via the WPSite PM inbox. Casey

what ever you did worked... replying from the notification should work, but with some email systems (at some times) there can be problems. I always reply from WPS PM inbox as it's reliable... Let me know if you want to do more testing. In a few minutes I ... 

One was a reply to the email notification of the PM and the other was straight from the PM inbox. But, my question was how do you reply to an email notification of a post (not PM).

When you create a post or reply to a post there is an option to request "alerts" to your message by checking the appropriate box at the bottom of your message. If you request "alerts" you will receive a PM to your registered private email inbox as follows...
