Salut Choupaps,
What I really think about Harry Winston, first and foremost, if I did not have any believe or faith in the brand, I would never would like to do this. By this I mean, taking the time to learn about the product, getting to personally know the fine people at HWRT and even going to Basel just to see HWRT booth. I have personally come to know all these in a relatively short time.
On Z2.
Everyone has their opinion, that includes you, and if you are decieved by it, I cant say much. However I do respect your opinion and this is why this is a discussion fora. I on the other hand am constantly surprised by HWRT, for the products they have in line and the products that are coming. This includes Z2. I personally and most honestly cant see anything wrong with the Z2, and I also happen prefer Z2 than Z1.
"Moreover, still in my opinion, the chronograph is very useless for a strict diving use, it is for me just a superposition of many complications without a lot of style." How many of us wears an expensive diving watch for diving. Honestly, which Z2 buyers buy it because they have diving in mind? Really. You can dive it, no problem, but who will do it? Thats the bottom line.
"the platinum and the zalium is also not very stylished because of the universe which are very different in both metals." I cant think of the top of my head of a Pt and Z combination, and if it does exist, its a rare combination. I like rare combination.
"Instead of that, the hands are very beautiful, as the visual separation of the chronograph counters, but the dial is too much complicated, the date is superfluous, and the shurinken very "baroque", as we say in french."
Its a sports watch, and IMVHO, sports watch should look busy. The Shuriken looks great in larger size like the one in Z2 as opposed to the one in Z1.
"Harry Winston has made this complicated watch while forgetting interesting complications like the indicator of the end of the barrel that is on the excenter tourbillon, something that is really more stylished..."
I dont see this as a complicated watch, I see this only as a sports watch. Thus I doubt the team at HWRT had a crazy complication to add on a sports watch.
"To finish, I'm really very afraid because the configuration of the dial, with the seconds at 3, make me think that the basic movement is a ETA 2894-2, a litte bit cheap for a Harry Winston watch"
Well if I were to buy a watch, which obviously I have bought some before, I tend to buy it for myself. And no I dont buy a watch and think, "hmmm what if that guy thinks that this is ETA?" Again this is just from my experience.
What I really think of your thought? Interesting obeservation and interesting thought. Your opinion is very much valued. Thank you for bringing this up. ![]()
