Because it is most faithful to the original Marine Chronometers. But I did not have the chance to see it in the metal so far.
The Red Gold version is very fine and receives a lot of charm from the warm color of the metal. Also the red gold color is closest to the brass cases of the original.
The blue dial is very well made but somehow fashion driven and difficult to read with its polished hands. Something that conflicts with the spirit of a Chronometer.
The Regulator is out of the question for me. I was told it sells well, and this is probably its raison d’être. which to me betrays the spirit of the G.O. Chronometer.
Harsh words for the blue dial and especially the Regulator, I know. But I consider the Senator Chronometer the keeper of the G.O. and somehow even the Glashütte watchmaking DNA. This leaves very litte space for compromise for me.
