Ladies and Gentlemen,

After 80 days at sea, the offshore sailor Boris Herrmann has completed the renowned Vendée Globe in 5th place.

On January 28, he arrived in Les Sables d’Olonne, France, where the race began on November 8, 2020. Glashütte Original congratulates the 39-year-old German on his outstanding performance and successful circumnavigation of the world. His constant companion during the storm-tossed 80 days was the SeaQ Panorama Date from Glashütte Original.

I have been at sea for days in the past and I always enjoy that feeling after reaching the shore, it is weird at first being able to stand straight and nothing to do with alcohol

Yeah! And all solo too!

If you get a chance do watch the videos he posted during the race. You can find them on YouTube.

Very upbeat fellow. Once Alex Thompson retired from the race I was cheering for Boris. Poor fellow, almost ended in tragedy 70 miles from the finish when he had a collision with a fishing boat. On day 80!!!!.

+1!

Can the Glashutte Original confirm that the primary watch survived the whole episode and that none of the backup watches were used?

Damn, Tony, I thought that might be you for a minute!
