I believe currently four stamps/marks are a requirement on a precious metal watch case in Europe

I was curious about this when I bought my ochs und junior moon phase.

Here is an interesting blog post from Ochs und Junior regarding the process of getting their cases assayed.

www.ochsundjunior.swiss

And below are pictures of my ochs und junior in silver with the four marks (from left to right):
1. Brand/responsibility mark
2. Brand's indication of fineness
3. Vienna convention statement of purity
4. Swiss Bernard dog (with 'Z' indicated, I believe for Zurich)

(The darkness on/and between the lugs and on the top of the case is just some natural silver patina)

Anybody knows what are the 2 small marks next to Au 750 on the caseback of watches?

And does it always exist? because I ve seen pics on the internet where the caseback doesn't show those marks. My pano has them but I never knew what they meant or stood for. thanks for educating me ...

Think they'll be assay office marks

Pretty much all precious metal items have them. They tend to be country and even city specific Regards JML

Google gold stamps and markings
