In my journey of getting to know the Glashütte Original brand, from the early 2000s, these two models are among those that intrigued me the most, one due to its absolute unusualness and particularly complex movement (the weekly calendar), the other for the simplicity of the dial and the legibility at a glance of the information offered by the calendar (I was back from another watch which forced me to wear glasses in order to see the day and month).
The first of the two to join the family was the weekly calendar, as it was already almost impossible to find (already having another perpetual GO, the PC Senator could wait...): after seeing the purity of the lines and the beautiful dial, the step to perpetual was practically mandatory...

The years go by, and the joy of admiring these German creations increases more and more, especially the pleasure of continuing to read the writings without the need for glasses!

Have a nice week,

Beautiful calendar week

Except that in my industry we don't reckon time in this way so I find it hard to justify enjoying one Plus this is a manufacture service only calibre so that also weighs the scales against it Maybe one day...

Two example of timeless design from GO. Both stunning

I want to be a brother with any of these

To me it's surprising that calendar week didn't become more popular and even more surprising that GO took it out of production after such a short time. The unique movement must have been both difficult and expensive to produce and then not used in any mod...

The Kalenderwoche is a quintessential German or European business watch.

The reason being is that periods of calendar weeks are used in the business world in Germany, but not outside that much. GO knew this and as the niche market (unusual complications) is a strategy of GO, not many were built. It is also a quite good prestig...

It was only made for 6 year

And the numbers of total production stays i Glashütte.

The big question is how long it takes to invent the movement

 By: Jocke - Bad Santa : January 16th, 2023-21:29
What I think is strange is that GO didn't make another variant of calendar week so they can still use the movement.

Yes, really strange...

I will say

Here in Sweden, there are professional groups that work with weekly planning, e.g. the construction industry, the automotive industry, etc. But these professional groups would never use such a watch.

I remember

 By: massi. : January 16th, 2023-21:28
reading an article in which GO's technical director explained how the Week calendar was sold at a "low" price because, when it was presented, a price was also communicated, but all the technical aspects had not yet been resolved. Aspects that greatly incr...

The Kalenderwoche .... that is an important GO, for GO collectors.

It is beautiful, a nice "anual calender" watch and technically unmatched. I don't own a GO, because I want this one to be the one GO I own.

I hope you will find one my friend.
