News Flash: Girard Perregaux Laureato Chronograph, Aston Martin Edition.

Oct 28, 2021,08:53 AM

Here we have a 42 mm Laureato Case, in steel, 12, 01 mm high, which is water resistant to 100 meters.

The dial is cross hatched, in an " Aston Martin Green ".

The movement is well known, 25, 95 mm high, automatic, beating at 28, 800 vph, with a power reserve of 46 hours.

This is a LE of 188 pieces and the retail is 18, 100 USD.

Honestly, it would have tempted me if... Well, you know, without... This bloody date at 4.30.

Here are the pictures:

What do you think?

Best,

Nicolas

This one is really striking…

the GPs I’ve always been most interested in are the steel skeleton and ceramic skeleton. I thought you were going to object to it being another green dial…but I agree that the date is the issue for me. Thanks for posting.

That's it.

I’m in the same camp. Love the black ceramic skeleton, and almost got one back in 2019.

My issue with the chrono is that it’s modular (unless I’m mistaken). Kinda disappointed that a famous watchmaking house such as GP doesn’t have their own automatic integrated chrono.

Very nice

take on the green dial. GP are very constrained on the Laureato line, they don’t milk the current integrated steel trend shamelessly👌🏻

It’s not exactly a 1:1 comparison…

but I find myself comparing this to the recent PP 5905/1a green dial release on bracelet from a wearability perspective...or “more likely to wear.” Of course that also has AC complication, amongst other differences. Actually, the proper match up is probab...

British Racing green ;-)

Lose the date and add some small yellow accents. Photo: Top Gear Photo: aBlogtoWatch ...

Agreed on both counts.

I couldn’t resist:

The dial color and pattern makes it on this one! The date doesn’t bother me, more the movement as it’s a simple module without column wheel and with a running minute counter. GP can do better. But here, the looks are so great: ...

Congrats, my friend.

This one is a little ironic...

The watch is not bad, but the marketing pushes it a little... After GP&Ferrari, GP&Fiat, GP&BMW... can car producers trust GP as their real, true friend? We shall see who is the next one Not a huge fan of these collaborations. I think I prefer the collabs...

Agreed.

Interesting evolution of the Laureato case shape

 By: roundel : December 21st, 2021-21:35
The lug area seems to have been squared off to be more similar to a Royal Oak. I have a version of GP’s previous collaboration with BMW Oracle, and it does not have the screw down pushers, no date, and features a flyback chrono with sweeping seconds and m...
