Let's blow it up...

... the positive side is the dial design language created for the smaller, more 'civilian' Laureato Chronograph in steel, which deserved to receive quite good feedback in my opinion. The transfer to the Absolute line and usage of carbon / Ti from a F1 car is something that probably sounds awesome in a creative product design meeting where everyone is high on coffee and under the impression of the last team building workshop ... as a product especially for / with Aston Martin then it is fun to look at, for about a minute.
A bit too much in every regard except the mentioned movement diameter smile

2022 Novelty: Girard Perregaux Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition.

Here is the last creation born from the partnership between Girard Perregaux and Aston Martin. The special detail here? The case, which is an alloy of titanium and carbon taken from two 2021 F1 cars. The strap too is a blend of rubber and carbon! The case...

Interesting watch,...although not my taste.

The small movement is evident in the (too) central date placement.

I feel the same way.

And you know how much I love Astons . The case here is truly excellent, both innovative and attractive in design. Everything else is mostly average, and especially at that price point. I would MUCH rather spend that exact amount of money on the impeccable...

I wish these watch manufacturers would stop making utter cr@p. This is cr@p. Compress some flaked CF off-cuts, a bit of granulised Ti in some resin and press-out and trim. I aim this critique at RM, GP, UN, Hublot and all others. Please tell me why this i...

Im just cynical

of these type of high-end watches, using what is now common materials (from scrap bins of auto/aero parts makers) that in effect press the composite in a mould and have minimal finishing. With a metal or even a full ceramic case, there is an element of qu...

At least the AP forged carbon cases were novel at the time.

Wasn't the Alinghi the first forged carbon case and even more than 13 years ago? In 2006 I was on the Purists trip to Le Brassus and seem to remember that we had a look at the autoclaves they were using to "cook" the forged carbon cases. It was all very e...

at GP in La Chaux-de-Fonds a few weeks ago. I have to confess that it didnโ€™t impress me very much. It felt somehow โ€ฆ cheap. They had many many watches which impressed me much more. Also in this price category. Please forgive me my open wordsโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ™ Best Tho...
