Looks like the ramp up for the 50th anniversary is starting.
The 40 mm laureato-olimpico is a good one to add to the collection IMHO.
Iconic reference with only a couple of hundred made in each dial color of Ivory, Anthracite Grey and Yves-Klein Blue.
Apart from its iconic status, proportions and looks, we remember that these had their bracelets and cases made by GTF who also made bracelets for the Royal Oak.
Made to exacting tolerances, the quality is evident on the wrist.
Today the Swiss-Italian company GTF is a wholly owned subsidiary of Audemars Piguet.
IMHO, the 8017 is extremely collectible and underpriced right now.

My own laureato-olimpico showing the caseback with “Laureato” and “Olimpico” engraved on it.
