GP newbie needs a primer and advice

Oct 12, 2022,17:25 PM

Hi all
I recently inherited 2 GP watches, 1 gents, 1 ladies
I've never had winding watches before and would much appreciated a primer on how to wear and care for them
the gents is a 60s 9086 gyromatic chronometer
the ladies is a 60s 6189 mechanical movement

I will probably wear the gents the most often
How do I wind them?
is it best to wear them all the time?
The gents starts to move when its shaken and wound but stops after a while. Am I not winding enough?
How to set the date?

Any info/details/advice is most welcome.
Thank you.

and then move hands back (until you hear or feel a small click) usually around 10pm/11pm and then move the hands forward again so that the date changes. You have to do that until you reach the good date which could be a bit tedious if you have to go throu...

Thanks very much for the info

Thanks very much montres1. Even tho I'm new to the GP line, I do appreciate very much how special these watches are. I'm very happy to have received it and will enjoy wearing it.
