Girard Perregaux Tri Axial Tourbillon: A marvel, but...

How cannot you fall in love when you see that?

But once encased...

There is a big issue, which is confirmed once on the wrist...

This is a watch which is unwearable for most of the wrists...

The case is 48 mm big, and... 18,66 mm high!

Jaeger Lecoultre does better with the Gyrotourbillon One, Three and Five and they house other complications ( perpetual retrograde calendar / Equation of Time / 8 Days for the One, Digital Minutes Chronograp for the Three, and Minute Repeater Westminster plus Perpetual Calendar for the Five) for a height which doesn't go over 43, 5 mm and 15, 5 mm high for the Three, which is the bigger and the thicker of the three of them.

A pity, because it remains a marvel...

Best,

Nicolas

... You are spot on. For that kind of dough, the JLC is the ONLY way to go. I do like the viewing window on the side, but that's not a good enough reason for a major purchase.

Of Course, Because On A JLC...

I cant really say I aspire to own a Tourbillon

However, for the right price I would be thrilled to own something like this. Of course, a tri-axial version would be even better!

It maybe a mechanical marvel, but I believe it's very heavy on your wrist.

The proportions are monstrous at best. My opinion. ☺️ Geross

+1. Sadly. [nt]
