Cushion case ref 2499

Friends,

Why is it called a “cushion case”?

See picture #2 with the lugs photoshopped of.

See the cushion shape now?

This is the rare GP ref 2499. It’s a 38 mm bi-compax chronograph with guilloche dial.

The black/charcoal grey dial had 122 pieces made and the silver dial had 182 pieces made.

These are not vintage…. They are NEO-vintage having been made in the year 2005. So they are made according to modern day standards (some would say made even better made back then).

Girard-Perregaux has never made another cushion case watch since then … almost 20 years now. 😮

So remember that while we all love the Laureato, as GP collectors there is much more to the brand with some very collectible pieces they are both rare and beautiful. This information is generally not known by “mainstream” type hobbyists.
