Interesting... Now they need to pivot.

Won't go into details, yet out of the blue someone brought UN to my attention. It scratched that part of my mind that analyzes. Hopefully they can pivot and reboot, because the core parts look there yet the brand's current 'voice' might not resonate well. The capabilities of quality and ingenuity is there, yet they seem confused(?).

Since the current management team is buying the brands, it might mean that they stay the current course of what they have been doing? But hopefully it means they will have more flexibility/independence in how they operate as they are not part of a conglom...

I don't think Kering has shown they really know what to do with either brand. If the management was passionate enough to buy them, maybe they have ambitions that weren't being supported by Kering. I've always wanted to see GP in particular to mount a come...

I am sorry that I will be very harsh here. I wish it wasn’t the case but as it stands now both brands are effectively dead. I hope that they can be revived with a management that owns them and is passionate about them.

We need these brands to be managed by commercially minded watch enthusiasts and people who are themselves passionate about these brands. What we don’t need is managers who don’t care whether they are peddling iPhones, dog food, perfumes or beer.

I prefer to wait a bit.

I am a fan of both brands and have watches from both. So of course very keen that they thrive! I understand that the management buy-out has been on the table for a couple of years but COVID and other issues have delayed it. My worry of course is without t...
