According to Karl De Smedt, the man behind the world’s only sourdough library, sourdough belongs to the entire world. Burbling away in refrigerators are over 100 sourdough starters from around the globe, all chosen due to their renown, unusual origins, and often, estimated age....

I have made lots of sourdough breads, but never considered them worth loving. How about you?



I do love the bread though.

sourdough Is almost most as serious a subject as watch collecting. Personally I love the stuff.

I do like most of them. I do not consider sourdoughs as the better ones, it’s just one of the many variations...

My wife had a pet sourdough starter. Unfortunately, like most pets, it developed health problems.

It really was like a pet and had been moved across the country repeatedly when she changed locations. Unfortunately, eventually it got contaminated with an unpleasant strain of yeast and had to be euthanized. It did provide a lot of good bread before that...
