Thank you halkcb. Even though the Montelena

Is a Cabernet the ‘97 reminded me of the 1989 vintage in Saint Emilion. Some mild overripeness, but depth of flavour and complexity. The longer the aeration the more the Montelena had to express. It really took me by surprise. Definitely the 94 Dominus was on another level though. Enjoy your treasures is the best or health.

Have fine taste. We are quite similar. Aged Bordeaux is always on the top of my drinking list. Have to agree Californians in the 90s are showing well... would love to try what you’re drinking. Are you on Instagram or other social media?

Done, responded

Haven’t had the Cade BV Private Reserve. I’ll have to look that up. I think the key for maximum enjoyment is age. Stylistically, I really like the aged Bordeaux blends from the Californian Terroir. Kindest regards,

Never tasted the 94 Dominus

,but have drunk a magnum of 94 Chateau Montelena and 94 Stags Leap Cask 23 and they were all very representative of the very good 94 vintage. My personal favourite from that vintage is the Chateau montelena, not exactly Bordeaux in style, but still spectac...

I have a glass with dinner and then slowly sip over a a few hours after. So most of my wine enjoyment comes just by itself. The slower I savour the more I enjoy.

Wise words
