As I have started the posts on our recent Polish road trip (here:  www.watchprosite.com  for first instalment), I may as well add the culinary component, too. And with street names like these below, it’s not hard to guess what was sampled wink

Here a simple one from Katowice. Nothing extraordinary but solid and tasty:

A lovely one from Warsaw - of a more modern variety and great seasoning:

Another one from Warsaw, with a Polish twist. Also quite nice:

Last but not least one from Starachowice, a town between Warsaw and Krakow. Excellent beef, seasoning a bit too subdued for my taste:

Bon appetite!

Not something I expected since it is hardly standard practice in every country

It originated in Poland

Cossacks in what is now Ukraine, but was part of Poland previous the partitions, used to prepare it by putting a piece of meat under their saddle.

Thanks for that detail, Wojo!

I heard of the same preparation method but used by Mongols / Tatars already before. But got no sources either way
