Now I've seen everything!

Annova has introduced a steam oven with a camera inside.

You "simply" put your food in a pan, slide it in the oven, the camera scans your ingredients, and if they are on this list:

and suggests ways to cook.

Annova Precision V 2.0 available Dec. 6 in the USA.

From a review: I am obsessed with this oven. You legit don't need any other oven. I don't even use my regular oven anymore... It has become my sous chef thanks to the food recognition . . . I season, oil, toss and throw the pan in the cold oven. 12 minutes later, I have perfectly steam-roasted broccoli (for example). Anova has figured out how to take us into the 21st century with the camera. The timelapses I get afterwards are a fun bonus that I share with friends and family…

NOT FOR ME
Don't worry, I already have been using a steam oven for about 15 years. And I bought the first Annova oven, returned it twice for various maladies, and got my money back. This one costs twice the price plus a digital access subscription (not mandatory).  I'm sure that the price increase covers mostly software, and comms back/forth to the oven.

How does food recognition work? The internal camera will take a photo of your food once the oven door is closed. If the food is recognized, the oven will suggest the best cook method. See our full list of recognized foods here to learn what your oven can ...

Ah, that is impressive indeed…culinary AI, tip of the iceberg, I’m sure.

I can only imagine how the next generation of professional chefs will leverage AI to create new dishes and experiences.

Unfortunately …

Annova don't have a great reputation for reliability and/or for customer service.
