Mike you are very correct. Burgundy has indeed been waiting for me. I hope you are well. We seem to have similar tastes in watches and wine. The last five Meo-Cazumet I’ve had were 2003 Vosne-Romanee 1er cru and the Clos Vougeot 2001 and 2003 grand cru. The 2001 was more cerebral but the 2003 had the perfect balance between complexity and fruit. I am very impressed. I squeezed a 1989 Margaux between so I still have this love affair with Bordeaux, but it’s nice to have a second but equal option. Like Lange and Patek or FP Journe )

Wow I am envious of the wonderful wines you enjoy, and not store as “investments” Yes that is the way to life. To truly use the luxury item to it’s intended purpose.
Had this today

I’ve been searching for this wine for 2 years. Coincidentally, I was with my buddy at the wine shop yesterday and missed it, but all of a sudden, he asked me what this bottle is, out of the hundreds of bottles there. Sometimes coincidence is strange. I to...
Nice one. The tannins in 2002s still dominate in my experience.

More time needed to resolve and soften. But there is good fruit across the 2002s so hopefully they will be fine in a few years. After trying several 2002s lately I’ve resolved to wait a few more years before trying again. Cheers, John
Perfect!

I would love to have shared the Meo Cazumet with you; but you might not have gotten more than a sip or two.

Don’t be embarrassed. The first 3 bottles of Cros Parentoux, a vineyard that Henri Jayer basically bequeathed to the brothers, that I had were unshared with anyone-including my wife! Heaven on earth. By the way:this was the early 2000s and they were 95s. ...
Burgundy prices have gone nuts!

That Cros Parentoux will likely be a multiple of more than 10 over your stated $1300/- Sad ,but makes these out of reach for casual drinking.
It is sad.

I’ve actually switched my focus to Super Tuscans because of the price of Burgundy. I figure I have a few years before the collectors kill this area.
