Harbinger of summer - some grilled octopus for lunch πŸ™

After almost scaling 30 degrees Centigrade on May Day, the recent cyclone with its rain has moved the weather more towards late autumn than summer. Still, one needs to try. So decided on something more summery for lunch, while waiting for the weather to catch up πŸ˜‰

The first idea was to do it with salad, but as our resident salad maker was busy with a Star Wars marathon with the kids, I improvised with something a tad heavier 🦾

As the octopus takes by far the longest, that’s what I started off with.

After boiling it for ca. 45 minutes it needed to cool down for at least half an hour in oil, before getting grilled…

This gave me time for some sweet potato mash…

And peas πŸ«›

Before finally grilling the now cooled down and oiled octopus πŸ™

Maybe not as light as a salad but still quite β€˜early’ summer in style. First time I grilled an octopus myself and overall quite happy with the results πŸ˜‹

Hopefully something tasty on your plates this Sunday, too 🍽️

Bon Appetit!
