Feasting

Some friends bought a new house several months ago, and they finally got "all moved in". They asked a few people over to celebrate with them, and prepared a traditional feast for us. I can't remember OR spell the names of the dishes!


The first was roasted chicken and onions on flat bread; the second was lamb, toasted almonds, parsley and rice topped with a cheese sauce. 





There was a rush to the table when dinner was put out before us.

All washed down with whatever beverage suited the age/constitution of the diner. And complemented wtih a loaf of my freshly-baked bread.




Knowing the global reach of this site, I wonder if those in the middle east area can tell me what these dishes are called?

I found the dishes online at a Middle Eastern chef's site -- no wonder I was confused -- it can be spelled (and pronounced) in a variety of ways and accents: Maqluba, Maklouba or Maqlooba. I found it hard to distinguish Maklouba and Musakhan because every...
