As a German-American I am not as biased….

But I agree with you, many of the best whiskeys are Irish. Actually, I’ll qualify that statement a bit. Many of the best quality, best value and most available whiskeys are Irish. Japan makes outstanding whiskey but it’s in short supply and expensive. There are obviously many great Scotch Whiskies but I don’t think they can match the Irish for value. Never been a bourbon guy (too sweet) so I’ll give the US and Canada a hall pass on this one. India and Taiwan are trying hard to enter the fray, but still have a ways to go. All my opinion, of course, but color me a huge fan of the Irish!

That makes Irish whiskey so fine and smooth. I know the 15 and 12 cask strength but have to try this 21 year old too ...

The 12yo Single Pot is our go-to...

...as it's really good and still available at a reasonable price. Now that it's getting colder, I've switched from gin to whisky/bourbon. Red wine is always in the mix : )

Ditto to everything you said!

I brought a bottle of Macallan to the Jaeger-leCoultre factory tour in June. Missed you! Wished you were there!

Try it without ice…..

Drink it at room temperature with a little water to open it up. I think you get a more pronounced flavor profile with this approach.🥂

I go with one (very) small ice cube...

...as the ice melts it changes the character...

Have you tried to 15 yet……?

The 21 is a little richer; more complex. I do love the15.

As an Irishman I’m biased but I think many of the best whiskeys are Irish. Redbreast, Green Spot, Middleton, Teeling etc. are all excellent. You also can’t go wrong with old standards such as Powers, Jameson, Bushmills, etc. Anyway, enjoy and Slainte! ...

…and opinion! Some fantastic Irish whiskeys out there, but also some amazing boutique producers of other fine drinks these days. Recently discovered the best lager I’ve ever tasted from a Dublín brewer called Hopburgh Helles. Highly recommended.

Yeah, Irish whiskey underrated, long may it be available
