Not as prestigious as some others from St. Julien, but this ‘82 is one of the blazing stars among not just St. Julien, but all of Bordeaux from 1982. My COVID-19 treat of the day for working hard and safely.

I’ve seen pictures. Your cellar will have many options from Gruaud Larose I think :))

The ‘82 is suave but showing some green. Not soil grit and definitely not corked. So I wouldn’t give it RP’s inflates 100 pts but 94-95. Bill do you think it’s bottle variation or a manifestation of bretts taking a detour from barnyard to vegetable patch?...

I found a earlier post with a nice selection.

Parker seems to like both the 1982 and the 1986

But I am not a fan of any green notes unless it’s a purposeful and gentle herb note on the nose in some of the more exotic wines. Anyway, all and all a very nice wine, but I chalk up the slight green notes to bottle variation. I’ll have to drink another b...

Thank you very much [nt]
